Population Education’s World of 7 Billion student video contest is back for the 2015-2016 school year and in addition to high school students, middle schoolers can take part as well!
The contest is open to all middle and high school students worldwide and the deadline for submissions is February 25th, 2016. It seeks to promote high school student understanding of the global impact of over-population through the exploration of three topics: deforestation, public health, and water scarcity. Students will compete for cash prizes to create the best video in one of these three categories. Last year’s contest was highly successful with hundreds of submissions. The contest can be easily integrated into any classroom, as it is accompanied by a suggested lesson plan to facilitate student discussion on the three topics.
