We’re very excited to be lending our support to the Big Cats Initiative, a National Geographic program that works to protect threatened and endangered species of felines around the world, and its Sister Schools program, which connects K-12 schools with schools in Africa to learn more about big-cat conservation and protection.
The MGA has been working with the Iowa Geographic Alliance and the Tigers 4 Tigers student group at Mizzou to raise awareness and support for the Big Cats Initiative. We recently even got Truman the Tiger to join us in support of his fellow big cats!
K-12 educators: we’d love to help connect you to the Big Cats Sister Schools program! Especially if your school mascot is a tiger, panther, lion, etc., the program is a great way to educate your students about the ongoing efforts to preserve and protect these magnificent animals. Please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you and your students would be interested in joining the initiative!
